It's a 18" length of 3" wide steel wool wrapped in a wire cage which is clipped to a dog leash. The steel wool is set alight & then I spin the cage in the vertical plane (this creates a ring of sparks). While I'm spinning it I am also walking around fixed point on the ground ensuring the the bottom of the "ring" is over the same point, thus creating the sphere effect.
