Thanks for the explanation, Matthew!

In a subsequent test, photographing the inside of lens caps, I noticed
that the 645D has more streaks than has the K-5. Completely in line
with your comparison of telescopes to DSLRs.

It's fun when unexpected explanations turn out to be right! :-)
