Glad you enjoyed it.

Having used Zinio for a few days now, I can say it seriously sucks. The
magazines look good in the Zinio reader but it's a slow and jerky bit of
software. The main issue, though is that it's a proprietary system and
there's no way (that I've found - and I've been looking!) to convert the
magazines into a more friendly format (pdf or epub). The worst feature
is printing. Some magazines will only allow printing of the currently
open two page spread and it seems that trying to print to a PDF driver
has been disabled in the reader, although I managed to get the open
source 'PDF Creator' to work occasionally but not reliably. *ALL* pages,
whether hard copy or PDF, have a watermark placed on the printed output.

Will I be continuing my magazine subscriptions after the current ones
run out? Not bloody likely! I notice that there's an Australian Photo
Magazine as one of the publications offered and, as I buy the hard copy
occasionally, I may get the electronic version instead. But that will
be about it.

If anyone missed my original post and wants to check out the offer, here
are the details again....

This article explains how to go about getting the $25 voucher:

http://dottech.org/freebies/24490/get-25-worth-of-magazine-subscriptions-for-free-from-zinio-you-pick-which-mags-no-credit-card-required/

A couple of points - You need to register with Zinio but you don't have
to give any credit card details unless you intend to spend more than
$25. You get two emails from Zinio - the first is a standard welcome
message and the second gives the gift voucher code. The second one may
not come immediately and (especially if you use Gmail) it's likely to go
into your spam folder (mine did).

There are a couple of good deals at present: 11 issues of Outdoor
Photographer for $US7.50; 12 issues of Shutterbug for $US6.75 and 12
issues of Popular Photographer for $US7.50. If you take up all three of
those, there will still be a few bucks left out of the gift voucher.

If you aren't in North America, you can still get the deal by clicking
on the Flag at the top right of the Zinio page and selecting the North
America option (see the comments section of the above mentioned link for
details on this).

Cheers

Brian
