The local entertainment paper said that Dick Dale was playing with them at a local club last night, it was a total screwup, someone grabbed a year old concert announcement. Even so, it was a great show, and interesting photographing a band that I don't know, or more importantly doesn't know me. I was bummed that I'd left the 200/2.8 at home, it seems to do a better job than the 135/2.5. What I could really use for gigs like this would be a 70-200/2.8, with autofocus and all of that good stuff, though the 60-250 would also probably do well. Even so, I made some good use of my 18-250. I ended up using the 135 a lot on the K-x, which has the katzeye, which was a big help with manual focus.
The K-5 shut down for about half an hour, which was very annoying. Despite all the challenges I got a few decent shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/sets/72157628180304675/ or http://www.flickriver.com/photos/ellarsee/sets/72157628180304675/ And the music varied from good to amazing. I got a couple shots of Jen, who was doing the light show. I would love to use one, or two, of those computer run light show projectors for some photo shoots, you could get some really cool effects that way. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
