The test went out fine. Let's try this one more time. Anyone who has driven Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz from San Jose has probably noticed Casa Del 17 just past the summit. On my way to buy a generator I got a call (that power was back on at the house and I could postpone an $800 expenditure) and pulled over to talk on the phone. I had never actually looked at a couple of signs out in front, one next to a port-a-san that they provide for travelers to use (rather than their flowerbeds I suspect). These photos are nearly without artistic merit, but the signs are worth a chuckle:

The owners seem to be Korean, so I suspect that they are the Korean equivalent of totem poles, either that or they just sunk telephone poles in the ground to protect the parking lot from errant cars on 17, and then subsequently decorated them. Some time I'll need to go back in better light and do some proper portraits of the totem poles. As to the name, about an hour South East of here is a tourist stop / campground called Casa de Fruita, I suspect that they thought they could capitalize on people recognizing that name. I also noticed another business on the property that had never caught my attention before.
