Re the 28-80 FA, The last one I bought from KEH cost me $48 USD in excellent
condition.
I actually prefer it to my 16-50 D*, due to its smaller size.
I used one for over 17 year in my forensics work - a wonderful performer

I stopped in to the last full service camera store within easy driving
distance today and lo and behold they actually had some Pentax gear in
their used camera case. A ZX-5n with FA 28-80mm kit for for about $60.00 a
trio of K1000 cameras, (looked mostly like mid era Hong Kong variants with
f1.7 and f2.0 M and A lenses), for about $125.00 a piece, and finally an FA
28-70mm f4.0 for the grand total of $20.00.
I thought it was sad but telling that the autofocus camera was less
valuable than the K1000s but I thought that the 28-70mm was seriously
under-priced. I've had a couple of them and while it seems a bit cheesy
mechanically than the other FA lenses I've used, optically it's a great
lens on film or digital. A real bargain at $20.00.

Don't lose heart! They might want to cut it out, and they'll want to
avoid a lengthily search.
