I generally rely on the K5's high ISO capability for many situations, but high
ISO doesn't help much in extreme backlit situations, which are common when
shooting birds against the sky. My Xtender looks like the Better Beamer
version, but I believe it was marketed by Kalt. I've had ti for ten years or
more. It gives one reach up to 100 feet or so, even outdoors, with the AF 540
in high speed synch mode. A real plus for bird shooting.
