I got a nice sample of this lens from a fellow PDML'er a
while back, also for its excellent range as you mention.
The constant f4 and auto-aperture/open aperture viewing
on my SuperProgram made it a useful addition for flash
        use, too, in my reasoning.

It is an excellent optic, especially for its era. One caveat
though, is that at the 45mm end there is considerable
distortion when used on scenics w/ both definite horizons
and vertical subject components. Example : when I got slides
back of an obelisk-like monument - it was true vertical, but
the distant ocean horizon was definitly bowed and draining
itself out both edges of the image!

If you stick to frame-filling nearby subjects none of this
will "show up" and the results will be most excellent.
