Subject: PAW--Week 49--Winter is a Coming

Hi Everyone:

Took a walk in the nature center today to clear my head, take some pictures,
and get away from Darrel yelling at the tv watching the Bears lose the game.
The light today was decent enough, but I didn't like the color, so I started
experimenting with the cream tone filter in Lightroom, and thought the results
tolerable enough.

The picture for the week is here http://aguilapaw.posterous.com

and there's a link for a small gallery, which is here too
http://www.caguila.com/wintercoming

I got two decent looks from some nice deer. I actually saw about 4-5 deer. I
missed what would have been a good deer jump and run shot; I was coming around
a bit of a bend, so I didn't see the deer coming--he just kind of jumped out of
the woods on to the trail, startling me, and, of course, I missed the shot.
Damn. To bad you guys can't see these larger; they really need to be seen
large, but I think you'll get the idea :-)

I listened to Gillian Welch's album "Time" while rendering these shots. Gosh,
I love her voice and music . . . time's a revelator . . . everyday is getting
straighter . . .

Anyway, if some of the shots in the gallery look too sharp to you, let me
know--a few seem sharper in the Lightroom web gallery--a bit harsh to my eye,
though hard to be sure. I need a new prescription for my glasses. Ugh.

Cheers, Christine
