Probably has to do with a capacitor charge having to leak off before giving
you the higher sensitivity reading correctly.  I'd say that's a normal
indicatiion. Of course, my Pentax Spotmeter is older than yours.  I don't
think I'd worry about it unless the readings you are getting aren't giving
you correct exposures.

When you are measuring light that will indicate 6 and above on your
Pentax Spotmeter V and you are looking into the spotmeter viewfinder
the needle comes from the right and settles on a number, 6 or above.
However when you are measuring light that will read 4 or lower on the meter
when you pull the on button the needle will swing all the way from the right
to
the left and then come up and settle on a reading 4 or below.

Is this movement correct or is there something wrong with the meter damping?
