After several hours spent trying to sort out the problem with the pdfs being 1/8" too wide I finally solved the problem.
The InDesign template from blurb has an inside bleed, in Document Setup of 0, and all of the others of 0.125 after a couple of conversions it came back with 0.125 all around.
