Brian,

The shutter speed was 1/8 sec; it's motion blur as she was either leaning 
forward or straightening up.  Things in front of her and behind her are sharp, 
as is she from the waist down.

I like the lighting, and the composition is spot on, but the two figures
don't seem to be sharply focussed (especially the woman).
