Ok, I should take a look at the new Contaxes (at least the AF models). All the Contax
cameras I have handled have been well made... so I cannot comment about the look and
feel
of the newer models.

No, I meant they want to show their intentions to come out with digital slr
cameras. If the first one is high priced does not matter that much. It may be
good to come out with a high price high spec model first (so people will go
aahhss.. and ohhhss.. ) and then introduce cheaper "comsumer" models later,
but only time will tell how they will succeed.

It would be nice to know how many they have sold... And not only those who use the N1,
but also the 645 AF model users.

I did believe it when they said the cost is too much. I am not entirely sure if I
believe
that the quality was not good enough. But we will never know the real reasons (except
the
cost).

Ok, maybe my example was a bit far fetched. But there still exist Contax N1 users
who want to go digital.

It is a very valuable marketing tool (and that is a valuable marketing slogan).
