Yesterday, on of the members of our dojo tested for his shodan (first black belt). At one point the instructors told his partner to attack him with a golf club tube, as if it was a bat, stick or whatever. When accused of having too much fun swinging it at Dave, Nicole admitted to having watched too much Star Wars: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/6665703527/in/set-72157628790064197/
I finished processing the photos from Dave's test in time to see a couple of bands, that friends are in, play at Don Quixote's. A local Mexican restaurant that gets some surprisingly big name bands, for a small venue in a town that until a couple of years ago only had one stop light. The first band was a Doobie Brothers cover band: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/6665720109/in/set-72157628790115531/ The second band, South 46, is an Allman Brothers cover band: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/6665731547/in/set-72157628790115531/ The lighting at Don Quixotes, like most small clubs, can be very challenging. Very hot on the red channel, and the bass and keyboard players ended up way off on the side, where they don't get much light. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
