Just a wonderful read and view - well edited - no apologies needed for
the quake photos - you selected visually dynamic ones whether or not
the quake produced the stuff.
The two Jack selected are among my faves, but it would easier to single
out a couple that don't speak to me (the plane, the crowd in the
container constructed buldings and the last one because the light is
kinda unintersting ) than point to ones that do. Just a wonderful
collection and nice narrative - well pruned :-)

Yes I've finally got around to producing a gallery from my 2011 photos.
They're mostly in chronological order and I've tried to string a bit of a
narrative in the text.
The quake images are documentary as I didn't take many but I felt a need to
include a few as they had such a big effect on our lives. The others form a
collection of my favourites from the year. Most or all of these photos have
been posted here before.
