And let us not be narrow and parochial. International women's day is a very important event in some countries. (Not that it necessarily leads to better treatment of women, but it gets a heck of a lot of lip service.) I am glad that someone reminded me of it, so I can get some flowers for my wife -- who comes from one of those countries and gets rather irked if I forget it, which I usually do.
