Paul, it may indeed be fixable (with some prism area surgery), but
I'd say to send it back as, if not DOA, at least COA (crippled on
arrival).  (Sorry.)  That little aperture window is a very important
feature to me, and I would be forever annoyed each time I used such
a KX, if it were not fixed.
