Hi Christine. Thanks for the kind comment in the other post.

Silver Efex Pro can be both easy and complicated. It has a wide range
of presets that are simple to apply and can be previewed within the
program's interface. Then there are a host of adjustment sliders that I
haven't really checked out in detail yet. It will probably take a bit
of time to work out what all of the sliders do and how they affect
various parts of the image.

As I'm using Silver Efex as a plugin for CS3, I've been opting for the
simple approach which mainly means selecting two or three presets, each
of which gets applied as a separate layer within Photoshop. I then use
masks to apply different parts of each preset to the final image.
Presumably, you couldn't use that approach in Lightroom so you probably
would need to come to grips with the adjustment sliders.

It's certainly worth downloading and playing with it - especially as the
demo is not limited in any way other than time. But at $200, it's not
going to see a permanent home here in the immediate future.

Cheers

Brian
