I don't think there's any particular propensity for this group of people to enjoy "retro". I dislike "retro", personally. "Retro" implies styling things to make appear a particular way for the sake of selling them on the fantasy of those looks. I dislike things that are false this way.
I love cameras that work. Many older cameras are dear to me simply because they work very well. Build me a camera that works well and I'm all for it. Olympus has produced many excellent cameras. I hope this one proves to be an excellent camera too.
