I used "pentax day" as an excuse to go on a photowalk around SOMA in
SF after dancing last night.
I don't know as I got any great shots, but I got a few fun ones.
The last two don't have anything to do with being good photos, but
there's a place that sells awesome crepes that's open until stupid AM,
and I can never remember exactly where it is (right near the DNA
Lounge as it turns out). I wanted to get a couple of photos so I'd
have a chance of finding it the next time I went looking for it.

I have to say 38012.jpg is my favorite of the bunch. Was the passing cab
a planned part of the capture, or a happy coincidence?
Both. I was composing, saw the cab coming and snapped it. When doing
night photography, I often like to catch moving cars in the background.
I really hope I can get back out to SF one of these days. It rained the
entire first half of my stay in the Bay Area, except for a couple of
hours here and there. The place is nothing if not a budding
photographer's paradise.
I think that just about any real city is good for photography.
Undeveloped country also. What I find challenging for photography is
the suburbs. Godfrey makes a go of it, but that seems mostly due to
detail shots and photographing people in coffee shops. I'm planning
another Salton Sea trip next weekend, and photographing around my friend
Candice's place in Reseda (San Fernando Valley) is tough. It seems as if
nothing there is either pretty enough to be worth photographing, nor
ugly enough to be interesting.
