Maybe it's because of the all-black finish, but I only just noticed that the DA 40mm F2.8 XS doesn't seem to have a thread or bayonet to attach a hood. On checking the specs, I notice that no hood is supplied with the lens.
I understand that a hood would negate the compact styling that is supposedly a prime selling point. But still....
