How lucky to be living closer to the poles. I understand this last month has 
provided exceptional displays of "stuff" to be photographed. You did a 
beautiful job capturing them.

The only auroras I've seen in my 69 years was from the Washington Canadian 
border as I was walking back to our car after a concert. Of course I was 
stoned. I was forced by my state of mind to lie down on a hillside for a couple 
of hours to observe (no camera). From that perspective it appeared that I was 
in the forward observation lounge of the Enterprise NC 1401 traveling faster 
than light (or close to it).

We'll be alright as long as we have enough atmosphere to break down those atoms 
our toasty sun insists on hurling at us.  :-)
