The afternoon sun casts dramatic shadows along the downtown skyline. I
particularly like this detail. This shadow only appears for a few
weeks in the winter due to the orientation of the buildings and the
low angle of the sun in the sky.

This photo has been in my library since 2007. This version had been
lightly reprocessed through Photomatix in an attempt to coax a little
more detail out of the shadow area near the windows.  I had only
bracketed plus or minus 1 stop.  At the time I hadn't planned on using
HDR, I just bracketed because it seemed like a good idea.   I recently
decided to give HDR a try to see what would happen.  I'm fairly happy
with the outcome.
