While doing a little research on last night's big Oscars winner ("The
Artist", which I knew nothing about) I ran upon this interesting quote
from Roger Ebert (a relatively famous movie reviewer here in the U.S.)
regarding his love of Black and White films. He said:"I also love black and white, which some people assume they don't like. For me, it's more stylized and less realistic than color, more dreamlike, more concerned with essences than details." I think it is hard to put into words what I find so appealing about (well done) B&W, but that isn't bad.
