It's getting warmer. The weather forecast is calling for temps in the mid-60's in the next few days. One of my neighbors is already working in his yard cleaning up the winter mess. It won't be long before people will be out in their gardens planting things like these onions I found in a roadside stand a few years ago.
This is another old photo that I've reworked Photomatix. A lot of the produce was in a tent, shaded from the direct sunlight. A few of the onions were lit by a little sliver of sunlight peeking through a hole in the tent. The contrast between the shadows and the highlights was just to high. I had bracketed the shot, but none of the individual shots captured what I saw. Just a very light treatment with Photomatix brought out the details in the shadows. <http://georges.posterous.com/spring-is-on-the-way-97108> I've never been a big fan of the extreme HDR that has been so popular for a while, but used sparingly, I think it may end up being a tool that can be very useful.
