First time I've ever been to a workshop (not counting GFM Nature
Photography Weekend) where I wasn't the only Pentax shooter.
I've taken a dozen or so weeklong or longer outdoor workshops and have been
the only Pentax shooter on all but two of them.

The model, costumes, props, lighting setups and poses were all provided by
the guy who was teaching the workshop. The lighting was all Photogenics,
rather than old fashioned hot lights. They were set up with grids & snoots
& a new Fresnel lens Photogenic has introduced - it's not focus-able like
the old hot lights were.
He also had a makeup artist for the model. The model's makeup is a lot
heavier than you'd want for modern (color) studio work with soft-boxes.
The makeup itself is almost HDR so it will still show up after
post-processing. The old expression "applied her makeup with a trowel"
almost fits, except that the makeup artist used an airbrush.
It was sort of a 4 part class:
- model, makeup, costumes & props
- lighting for that period Hollywood look
- posing
- post processing
But the *neatest* thing about the whole class was the guy sitting behind
me turned out to be another Pentaxian; shooting with a K20D. First time
I've ever been to a workshop (not counting GFM Nature Photography Weekend)
where I wasn't the only Pentax shooter.

John,
Looks like fun and a very nice photo from you.
I think the feeling is old enough that no old phone is necessary as a
prop.
