Welcome aboard, Alban.
Here are is another option you might look at. jAlbum is a very nice,
free album generator with a host of choices for skins. You can create a
web album with a minimum of fuss and it does not require any programming
knowledge.
jAlbum.net allows you web space of 30MB free and you can purchase more
(2GB for 24EUR, 20GB for 98EUR per year). It has built-in ftp so you
can upload directly from the software. If you have other web space
available, such as what your ISP may provide, you can set the ftp to
upload to that space instead.

Picasa was my first option, but Google's last changes in privacy settings
scared me a bit. Despite the fact I like the result I see with your gallery. I
will wait until I have read enough articles about the potential side effects.
Not saying it isn't a valuable option or it is awful news. I just don't know by
now. Thanks, for the advice, anyway.
Flickr limits to 300M and I have no idea if it is sufficient for normal use.
I considered to host a gallery on my own or use my ISP website hosting service
and upload one of the CMS below:

On the paper, it seems easy. I will see and tell you.

Alban,
Picasa is a Google product, but free.
Here's what I did with it.

I also use Photo.Net, but pay for subscribing.

images from
other countries.

(The TV images from the Tour de France are so
spectacular.)

Hi PDMLers,
I didn't dare to introduce myself earlier
before I
uploaded my three humble shots to contribute to the
PDML
photo annual 2011.
I'm Alban Bernard, I'm French and a pentaxian
since my
father offered me his MX and a couple of lenses on
one of my
early christmas (Pentax 50mm f/1.7 and a Sigma 28mm
f/2.8
Macro as a bonus). Shooting films were a bit
expensive for
me at that time and so I didn't use them as I would
have
liked to. My father died in 2005, then I decided to
give
photography a more "serious" try. Later, I
purchased my
k200d, thanks to the pentax K mount, I was happy to
reuse my
father lenses in a digitally upgraded set.
I went to the PDML in 2009 to learn a lot.
Good catch!
I got the inspiration and the good mood from this
list even
if the traffic rate prevented me from reading all
the good
post. In a certain way, reading it helped me not to
be too
gear-addicted.
~Alban.
