It never became spectacular. It was cloudy, so after this brief display the sun (and colours) stayed hidden behind the clouds. I waited and waited for something more exciting to happen, but finally gave up. What you see here lasted for about 5 minutes just after the sun peeked above the horizon (actually, I never did actually see the sun, just some colours). Despite its brevity, now that I look at the photo, it was a nice little sunrise:
