I'd seen the Oly disassembled before and was surprised at how little
glass was in there. It almost seemed like the glass was an
afterthought. I imagined this conversation taking place around the
water cooler at Olympus Engineering HQ:

Engineer #1: We've finished designing all the electronics for the new
17mm f/2.8; when are you sending me the optical design?

Engineer #2: Oh, I haven't started yet. You need it soon?

Engineer #1: Dude-san, the presentation to the boss is tomorrow
morning and production starts right after that!

Engineer #2: I'll do it after lunch, then.

Engineer #1: I go home at 9:30.

Engineer #2: Plenty of time... Hey, have you seen the new babe in
accounting? I hear she's into manga.
