I've just watched the first half hour of it and I'll watch the rest later,
simply because it's interested to see and hear HCB himself.

But that interviewer is dreadful. He talks to HCB in the patronising way a
child talks to a gaga grandparent, almost always finishing with closed
questions. There's no sense of an open conversation taking place between 2
intelligent people who share an interest, and the interviewer just seems to
want Cartier-Bresson to rehash stuff that he's said a million times before.

Cartier-Bresson's Frenchness and disdain for the conventions of TV seem to
be completely beyond the experience or understanding of the interviewer. And
he keeps trying to corner him into talking about his status, as if anyone
from a background like HCB's is going to sit there and say 'Yes, I'm the
greatest photographer of the age and an artist on a par with Matisse and
Picasso'.

Fur fecks' sake, what a wasted opportunity.
