them?"

Ace Photo can handle basically anything; they do lots of medium- and
large-format work, black-and-white, chromagenic, you name it. They
understand scanning and recently upgraded their main scanner. For their
scans they use professional color-correction software. 35mm Picture CDs are
nominally scanned at 1,536 by 1,024, sometime 17xx by 13xx. But they'll go
higher if you ask them; in fact, I think they do scan at higher res if the
film is faster than 400.

The shop is proud of their 16 x 20 color prints and loves to show them off
on the walls. Increasingly, many of these huge prints were made from
digital cameras or digital scans, but the shop continues to believe in the
future of film for enthusiasts who prefer film.

I can't speak for their B&W work, but trust them; the area pros do. Ask Mo,
"How can I improve my shots?" and he'll tell you.

Mo has a sign behind the counter that reads something like, "Good + fast +
cheap; choose any two. If someone expects a lowball price, he sends them to
Wal-Mart. I don't find his prices out of line at all for what you get; he's
certainly competitive with Dale Labs, the mail-order high-end developer in
Florida.
