Great news. Sounds like everything worked out for the best.
Now all you have to do is watch out for those dingoes. ;-) cheers, frank "What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof." -- Christopher Hitchens --- Original Message --- From: John Celio <[email protected]> Sent: March 27, 2012 3/27/12 To: [email protected] Subject: Enablement + Repairment = Ready to travel! Last week I posted about wanting to trade my A 50mm 1.2 for a DA 35 Ltd macro, but there were no takers here on the list. Darren Addy offered to help me sell the 50 and buy a used 35 Ltd, and we made a nice little profit on top of it all! The 35 showed up last night, and although I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet, I can at least say that it is a BEAUTIFUL lens. I hope the Canadian fellow who bought my 50 feels similarly about that lens; I'd forgotten what fantastic shape it was in before I sold it. As I mentioned a while back, I had to send in my DA* 16-50 for repair. Today it came back from CRIS repaired for free! Woohoo! It may have helped that I tweeted to @NedBunnell about my dissatisfaction with the lens needing AF repair for the third time... ;) I am now ready for my Australia trip, at least with regards to my travel lens assortment. I'm bringing the DA* 16-50, DA 35 Ltd and DA 21 Ltd. The 21 might seem redundant, but it's so small that I don't mind carrying it as a backup in case the 16-50 has problems again. The 35 is coming along for macro in case I find interesting Aussie bugs, and I'm very happy about how much smaller it is than my D-FA 100mm macro lens. Now to just nail down my travel itinerary and I'll be all set. Of course, deciding where to go appears to be the hardest part. I'd wander the whole continent if I had enough time!
