I'd just download it and use Lr 4.1RC until your official arrives. The
final release of 4.1 is likely not more than a week or two away.

good idea to download the RC, thanks; i will have it in 3 hours or so
i double-checked and my free upgrade fulfillment for LR4, requested 6 March, is
in three different statuses at Adobe:
* upgrade support case says order placed 20 March, expect it in 5-7 days from
then
* order history says the order was placed 15 March but no shipping info
* order status says "Order Pending. We have received your order and are working
on fulfilling it. You will receive an automated notification when your order
ships."
