I took another look at the bokeh and really didn't connect with it. I remain impressed with the resolution.

The best way to distinguish the shots from the Promaster is the bokeh, which looks mottled to my eye. I try to shoot it a couple of stops down from wide-open and avoid zooming all the way out if I can. But it still looks really ugly to me compared to the 50/1.7. The shot of the robin in flight is a good example of the ugly bokeh it sometimes produces.
