I'm wondering if there isn't some rebellion or loophole leaping still going on in the world of big camera retailers with regard to Pentax's new lens price policy:
Example: FA 77 Limited at B&H Advertised price page: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/388316-REG/Pentax_27980_Telephoto_SMCP_FA_77mm_f_1_8.html Reduced price page: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&sku=388316&is=REG&A=details&Q= Notice in each of the two URLs above you will find the B&H SKU number (388316 in this case). If you find the B&H SKU for any item, you can plug it in for the sku= value in the 2nd URL to find the "in the cart" price. Also, on the first link above, notice how below the $1099 you see a link that says "Click to see current price". Adorama is doing basically the same thing and has the same selling price on this particular lens. However (and I find this interesting) you'll find that the sellers on Amazon haven't gotten the memo: http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-SMCP-FA-77mm-Limited-Lens/dp/B000EA3RW4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1335154857&sr=1-1 It looks (to me) like the big retailers (like B&H and Adorama) are going to stick to the Letter of the Law and "advertise" the price that Pentax dictates, but their actual selling price is just another click away. Anyone have any observations? Or am I just "discovering" something everyone has known already? -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
