Well, while I have sympathy for the plight of artists (looking, as it
were, from the inside out), it's not really a new phenomena. And it
ain't going to get better even if the economy does improve.
There's a reason why "don't quit your day job" and "starving artist" are
both long-standing clichés.
My hat's off to anyone who can make a full time living as an artist.
Most artists have to have at least a part time "real job".
