Walt, very nice, Joe
Hi all,
Having pulled out of my despondency with knowledge that I have a
replacement for my A50/1.7 on the way, I thought I might as well pull
out my original beloved lens, the M 50/2 -- the one I feared was
destroyed when my cat knocked it off the dresser. It still feels a
little weird while focusing -- though, that could be due to the fact
that I'd gotten so used to using the A 50/1.7 & K 50/1.4.
In any event, I took it out into the yard and popped off a few shots
before I headed out for a bit this evening. I have to say I'm pleased
with the sharpness it produces -- I think it may even be just a
smidge sharper than the A50/1.7. Here's one of the few shots I
knocked out late this afternoon -- it's my next door neighbor's
daughter, who happened to be outside playing while I was taking a few
flower shots for my own amusement. I have to say, I'm pretty happy
with the results:

K20D, M 50/2, ISO 100, 1/200 sec, f/3.5(?)
Freckles are one of my weaknesses when it comes to human subjects. I
just find them enchanting.
Nevertheless, this was a bit of a therapeutic shot. I still really
like the lens -- a lot. I just wish it had A contacts. Is the A 50/2
as nice a lens as the M 50/2? I may look into one someday if it is.
Comments, critiques and suggestions are, as always, eagerly solicited.
Thanks!
