First time in almost a year. It was cool but weird.
Took very few photos as I was always conscious that my film supply was finite
(had about 32 shots left on the roll with no fresh roll in my pocket).
Also, no chimping, no processing and posting the same day.
Still, it handles so beautifully and feels so reassuringly solid that it's
just a joy to use, even though completely manual.
Who knows when the photos I took today will be.posted?
;-)
Film is about process while digital is about results. Mastering process
makes one a master of results - but since anyone who can shoot enough
images will eventually produce good results, there is no incentive for
that. One can always become their own army of monkeys, shooting
randomly, picking up the aught 1% of good shots, and feeling like they
know what you are doing. But the nice thing about film is just that
sense of process - as in, I don't know what the results will be, I don't
care, I'm doing this because I want to.
Your comments about finite film supply are interesting - I load up my
pockets will too-stale film and chide myself for not burning up more!
