Works fine for me until I try shooting in portrait orientation. In that case I usually turn my cap around backwards. If I had a grip with the extra shutter release then I'd probably be OK that way too. Pointing a cap to one side is quite stylish at the moment... (not in my opinion, but I've never been stylish).
