Two points: 1 - I think it's the ferns that make this shot. There were plenty of other trillium around but this was the best opportunity for a good composition because of the ferns. 2 - Bloody 'ell, I *just* now noticed that this isn't a trillium - it's a quadrillium (a mutant with four petals and four leaves)! I didn't notice while I was shooting it and I've been looking at the photo without noticing for days.
