Agreed. The ordinary computer user knows nothing about encryption. I'm not an encryption expert by any means, but to me using encryption is sort of like locking the door on my house. It makes me feel secure. I imagine much of the lost personal information, user passwords, etc., that are reported upon as stolen were also encrypted at some point. I just basically think that if one puts something in the cloud they should not assume it's safe, because it's putting one's own data/files in the possession of another party.
