This is number 17 in the series "Print-a-Day for 30 Days." <http://georges.posterous.com/transmission-gear-print-a-day-17>
This is not one of my favorite photos. I selected it for the printing project for two reasons. There is a lot of detail in the deeper shadows and there are a couple of unnaturally bright colors. I was curious to see how that would translate on paper. That distracting fluorescent green rain-suit has been desaturated quite a bit, and it still jumps out. It's one of those situations where I should have waited until the guy moved or shot from a different angle. It's hard to believe, but on that day there were so many people in fluorescent green and orange that they just started to "disappear." The eye and brain do weird stuff. After a quite a bit of experimenting in Lightroom, the final print was not horrible. Not horrible in the sense that it was a good representation of the image file. If I liked the content of the photo, I would have been OK with the print. As it stands, it was a good exercise for the printing project. gs George Sinos -------------------- [email protected] www.georgesphotos.net plus.georgesinos.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
