The Pentax 24-90 offers great versatility in focal ranges. It is amazing how many times you yearn for an extra few mm either end when you use a 28-70.
The 24-90 is light and compact and sits well on the MZ range, but is not particlarly well built (some say flimsy - but its as good as most consumer zooms) fot its price - the money buys you image quality rather than build quality. The 24-90 has SMC lens coating and copes with flare better than 3rd party lenses when pointed into the sun. The lens is extremely sharp for a zoom and does not have much distortion although a little is evident at both ends - with care you will never notice it. Yes, is is a great general purpose lens for travel where weight and size are an issue. > -----Original Message----- > From: Christien Bunting [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 13 March 2002 02:42 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Pentax 24-90mm f/3.5-4.5 > > > Is this a good general purpose lens ? > > Travelling lens perhaps ? > > Opinions and Reservations please. > > Thanks > - > This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
