Years ago, I sent in my A.135mm F1.8 lens to have it fixed and they sent all the broken parts back to me.I was hit by an huge pro basketball player when I was on the end court by the basket, The lens took the hit , but I still receive some of the hit...So I guess they always send back the bad parts with the repair.Joe

I once had something similar happen with a cell phone a few years ago. It was part of an insurance claim so they sent it to be repaired. They slapped my shitty old battery that barely held any charge onto another phone of a similar model. I ended up buying a new phone not long after that.
