Ann, thanks for looking and commenting. Alas I have worked those over
hard with Aperture contrast and shadow adjustments. The lighting was a
mixture of the 3 major types plus strong back-lighting from uncovered
windows.
Glad you found the people interesting. They are very dedicated to their
dogs. It did look like prom night at the hairdressers.

Don -
you should be able to use the "Shadows/highlights" adjustment in
Elements (or whatever photoshop you have) to save some of these and the
one i'd like most to see saved is Dogshow 6413 - It a hillarious shot -
something about those doggies looking like bear skin rugs and contrast
of the very casually attired owners and spiffed up pups.
This shot is less cluttred than most of the others... very difficult
shooting conditions apparent.
