The autosampler on our NMR (like an MRI but with a smaller hole) has broken a few sample tubes in the past week, and this is a huge nuisance because we need to remove a big piece of sensitive tech to clean it out. I was trying to take pictures with the Q to send to the company, but when I got too close the LCD would just lose the picture but still show the info, just like when the lens cap is still on. I guess the magnetic field just affects the sensor? Anyway, since the field has a funny shape I moved back and around until I could get some shots. The first is the magnet with a lovely Vermeer print on the back wall:
