If the battery is getting low on a ME super is the LED's the first things to go. I was trying the trick of super gluing the white lock button so it wouldn't lock on auto (big hands no fingernails) I went to try the mode dial(?) and was not getting any led's to light up in the viewfinder. I undid the super glue modification to no avail. Admittedly, I did not try the meter prior to the super glue, but the meter was working OK about a week ago. I may have left the camera on auto, not locked, during that time. The electromagnetic shutter seems to work ok as does the auto exposure mode. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also, I found that the shutter seems to work regardless of which way the battery is put in (using a #58 lithium battery). As a matter of course I will replace the battery tomorrow.
On a side note the list is great for interesting little known facts. After owning a Spotty for over 30 years the list was the first place i had ever heard the mirror lock up trick. I'm having fun playing around with that. BUTCH "Each man had only one genuine vocation - to find the way to himself" Hermann Hesse (Demian) - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
