Yes, the 283 or the 285HV are very good flashes but you will still have to shoot at 1/100th or slower. You will also lose TTL flash capability. The Pentax AF500FTZ is a great flash for shooting indoor sports, like Judo. Pick a lens aperture that will force the flash to output more light than the ambient level and the flash itself will stop the action for you, if that's what you want to do.
