Quelles âneries! Heaven forfend that anyone on the PDML write such loquacious 
pretentiosities!

Incidentally, I worked with someone once who insisted on writing 'E:mail' - 
with the scare quotes - for years and years after it had become part of 
everyday life and was spelt email.
