The pro program almost certainly includes rental, replacement units for the pros to use during repairs, and loaner equipment. They'll also have a few of the really high end items (such as the extreme telephoto lenses) for use by folks who can't justify owning one, although most of those are already part of the rental program. When I covered the Montreal Indycar race many years ago, Canon had a pro gear service on-site (albeit on a much smaller scale). One of my colleagues got a loaner body and a 400m lens; Canon though it was good PR to get the equipment into the hands of someone who might buy one in the future, rather than leave it sitting on the shelf. You couldn't sign up for that in advance - it was only made available after all the other demands had been met - and of course they ran his credit card first (although as long as he returned the equipment in good shape at the end of the day there was no charge). -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
